I spent my twenties chasing adventures - rock climbing in the Rockies, trail running through BC's backcountry, competing in obstacle races across North America. But here's the thing that kept bugging me: most people I met wanted that kind of freedom and capability, but traditional gyms weren't building it.
After tearing my ACL on a poorly prepared descent in 2018, I realized something during recovery. Strength without function is just for show. Looking good on a bench press means nothing when you can't scramble up a rocky trail or pull yourself over an obstacle without tweaking something.
So in 2020, right when the world was falling apart, I opened Eldrakar. Yeah, probably crazy timing. But people needed this more than ever - a place that trains you for real life, real adventures, real challenges. Not just Instagram muscles.
